If you are considering applying to become a Maryknoll Lay Missioner, please note that we look for applicants who have:

• Skills that can be used in ministry in a cross-cultural setting.
• Prior experience (paid or volunteer) that prepares them to work with communities affected by poverty, conflict, and/or marginalization.
• Prior experience (paid or volunteer) engaging with people from a different culture, background, or ethnicity, in-country or internationally.
• A faith-based motivation and an interest in engaging in mission within the context of a Catholic community.

The priority deadline for submitting the full application packet is September 30, 2026. If all spots in that year’s orientation class are not filled after the September deadline, we will continue to accept applications through October 15, 2026. We recommend that you begin this first phase of the application process early so that you have enough time to complete all the required steps before the due date.
