Request an Application Request an Application Thank you for your interest in Maryknoll Lay Missioners. Before you fill out the request for an application, please check that you meet our eligibility requirements. To be eligible, you must be · Catholic · Age 21 or older, in good physical and mental health · A U.S. Citizen or permanent resident · Single or divorced, or a married couple with both spouses ready to apply and come to mission together. We also accept families, usually with no more than two children, eight years old or younger. Exceptions considered on an individual basis. · Willing to make a 3 ½ year commitment to overseas service. (2 ½ year commitments available in some regions for those who already have the language or have special skills.) In addition, we look for applicants to have · Skills that can be used in ministry in a cross-cultural setting. · Prior experience (paid or volunteer) that prepares them to work with communities affected by poverty and/or marginalization. · Prior experience (paid or volunteer) engaging with people from a different culture, background, or ethnicity in the U.S. or overseas.
