Maryknoll lay missioners in El Salvador accompany internally displaced refugees, homeless persons and people in economically poor squatters’ communities. They work in education, youth services, parish outreach, economic empowerment, nutrition, agriculture and environmental concerns.
In this video, they talk about their lives and ministries in a country that continues to experience an epidemic of gang-related violence, while also celebrating life and nurturing many seeds of hope.
This is a sorely needed video on Lay Missionary work in El Salvador. This video strengthens my faith that the world can be changed through the love and sacrifice these missionaries exemplify.
I enjoy and am truly moved by reading and seeing videos of the work being done via the Maryknoll Lay Missioners. The work being accomplished is so very loving, kind and honest. The most beautiful part, for me, is the clear face and fingerprints of our dearest Lord seen on every child and adult that you reach out and touch.
I often hoped to be a part something so beautiful, everlasting and giving. Helping to allow the presence of our Lord shine through and rest on each face in each village and community where you reach, inspire and pass forward the Truth and the word of our Lord.
Your work is so needed and wanted. Thank you for sharing all you and so many more do.
I am interested in learning your age requirements for participating in your Lay Missioners Program.
Again, thank you so very kindly for all you do.
Sincerely,
Gerard Magnelli

I was so happy to view this video!
I was blessed to be part of a Maryknoll/ JustFaith Immersion in El Salvador in December of 2018 and it was these very people in this video that observed and learned from and broke bread with. I love their hearts, I love their humility. I love the hope they bring and so much more.
I hope to see them all again…..God willing.
in peace and with love and prayers.
