Watch a recording of the Covenant Mass, Thursday, Dec. 8, 2022:

We were delighted to bless and send into mission the 2022 Class of Maryknoll Lay Missioners, consisting of four new missioners and three children: The Johnson family of five, from Sequim, Washington, will be serving in Tanzania; and the Silveus-Lattanzi family, most recently from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, will be going to Haiti.

On Thursday, Dec. 8, at 2 p.m., the candidates signed a “Covenant” that committed them to mission as members of Maryknoll Lay Missioners.

On Saturday, Dec. 10, at 2 p.m., they were sent forth into mission. Representatives of all four Maryknoll entities (Maryknoll Sisters, Maryknoll Lay Missioners, Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers, and Maryknoll Affiliates) participated in the Sending celebration in the Chapel of the Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers in Ossining, New York. The keynote speaker was Susan Gunn, director of the Maryknoll Office for Global Concerns.
