Ashley and Michael Leen, Maryknoll Lay Missioners serving in Tanzania, Africa, were recently profiled in The Catholic Spirit, the Archdiocese newspaper of St. Paul and Minneapolis.
Here’s a particularly astute remark from the Leens captured in the interview: “Mission is typically thought of as “somewhere over there,” but it’s not necessarily so. We believe mission happens wherever people are concerned about the lives and well-being of the poorest of the poor in their community. They exist everywhere, in Tanzania and in the United States.”
