Maryknoll Lay Missioner Liz Mach is featured in a recent article in New People Magazine, published by the Comboni Missionaries in Kenya. As part of a diocesan team in Musoma where she works alongside a number of dedicated Tanzanians, Liz has been fighting to eradicate Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) in Tanzania, where the program has the full support of the Diocese of Musoma. FGM is still very prevalent in many countries throughout the world and the article details the customs, dangers and human rights abuse this issue has on girls and women. Through the article, Liz also helps raise awareness for the evil that FGM represents.
