On this #GivingTuesday during the 2nd week of #Advent, the readings remind us that the past, present and future coming of Jesus into the world is the fulfillment of the saving plan of God.
Our missioners help fulfill the saving plan of God every day through the people that they serve. We continue highlighting these missioners each week on #GivingTuesday. Today we highlight our ministry in Brazil.

Marcelo Maiorano- MKLM-São Paulo
“Currently my focus lies in prison ministry and communication. I am part of a rather small team that visits the state of São Paulo’s Penitentiary System Hospital Center on a weekly basis. The men and women there have been transferred to receive more intensive medical treatment or to undergo surgical procedures.
As part of the Pastoral Carcerária (Prison Pastoral team) we bring religious support and offer our solidarity and prayer together. I also have helped the men reach out to their families who often don’t know about their transfer.
I’ve just completed co-facilitating a Fundamentals of Restorative Justice course in a prison in the extreme south of the city. The course focuses on helping participants grow more conscious of their emotions, and move away from a cycle of aggression and towards forgiveness and reconciliation in their lives.
I produce a radio program called Vozes da Migração(Voices of Migration). I interview immigrants and refugees here in Brazil to build bridges between Brazilians and their new neighbors.
And I help at the Arsenal da Esperança, a shelter and social assistance center for 1,200 men experiencing homelessness.”

This Advent season and, today, The Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, connect your compassion with God’s mission as you give to a world in need through your prayers, presence, gifts, and service.

Continued blessings for this Advent season!
