Maryknoll Lay Missioners wants to give thanks to God for the ministry of Bishop John Edward McCarthy on the 60th anniversary of his ordination as a priest. Bishop John has often been referred to as the “mission bishop”. Throughout his priestly life and as bishop first as auxiliary in Houston and then as ordinary in Austin, TX he has been an articulate and tireless advocate of mission and the call of the laity to service and mission as a vocation. In recent years he has become a good friend of Maryknoll Lay Missioners and on the 30 of November 2011 he wrote a blog about Maryknoll Lay Missioners. You can read the blog by clicking here.
Let us together give thanks for the life of this Valiant pastor and friend. Happy Anniversary Bishop John!
