Today, we continue our #MeetaMissionerMonday series by introducing one of our newest missioners, Angelica Ruppe, who is now working in Tanzania. Angelica has a BS in accounting from the University of Guanajuato, Mexico and a Masters in General Studies from Southern Oregon University. She also has training in Neuro Linguistic Programming from Wings Seminars. She served as Chief Financial Officer of a community and migrant clinic in southern Oregon. She is a CPA and has taught accounting.
Angelica spent a month serving as a missioner in Cameroon, Africa. She is a member of the Rotary Club of Ashland, Oregon, with which she often returns to Mexico for projects to bring housing, water, stoves and playgrounds to rural communities. She grew up in Mexico and came to the US to attend graduate school. Angelica enjoys reading, hiking, traveling, dancing, and camping. She has two adult children.
Angelica came to MKLM having been referred by a missioner friend. When she applied to become a Lay Missioner, she said her dream got bigger; everyone knows about MKLM, she said. She is excited to serve in Tanzania, as that was her first choice. Having served previously in Africa, she knew she wanted to go back and do mission work there. She looks forward to her work in Tanzania, following “whatever God wants her to do.”
Please join us in praying for Angelica as she begins this meaningful chapter in her life. We hope that you wish her well and support her in her endeavors. Please share Angelica’s story and Maryknoll Lay Missioner with others, especially committed Catholics who may be discerning God’s call to serve.
