On Saturday, December 14, 2019, four new Maryknoll lay missioners and one Maryknoll sister were sent forth into mission: Greg Garrity and Brenda Seymour to Kenya, Julie Lawler to Cambodia, Jillian Foster to Haiti, and Sister Rolande Kahindo to East Timor.
Christina Lamas, executive director of the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry, was the featured speaker. The heads of all four Maryknoll entities (Maryknoll Sisters, Maryknoll Lay Missioners, Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers, and Maryknoll Affiliates) participated in the celebration in the Annunciation Chapel of the Maryknoll Sisters in Ossining, New York.
Compelled by faith to engage with people across cultures and ethnicities, Maryknoll lay missioners live, love and work with communities on the margins to promote active nonviolence and healing.
