Director of Missions
Maryknoll Lay Missioners is now hiring a Director of Missions.
The director of missions is one of two key leadership positions and is responsible for overseeing and directing our missioners and mission programs. The position assists in the formulation of the organization’s mission, vision, objectives, policies and plans.
The director of missions provides direction, coordination and leadership to the mission services director, regional directors, and all missioners. The position works closely with the executive director, heads of departments, and regional directors on organizational matters. As a member of the Association Leadership Team, they partner with the executive director and the board of directors in developing and executing long-range strategic plans for all areas.
The position promotes the overall well-being of all Maryknoll lay missioners and oversees the development, evaluation and management of all of our ministries and mission sites in currently nine different countries. The position requires the ability to travel to overseas mission sites.
Qualifications include a bachelor’s or master’s degree in theology or pastoral ministry in combination with management training — or any combination of education and experience in management, social services, pastoral accompaniment, and human relations in a non-profit. A minimum of five years experience serving overseas as a lay missioner and, preferably an additional three or more years experience in organizational administration and management. Though Maryknoll Lay Missioners is headquartered in New York, we are open to remote working arrangements, with travel to NY at various times during the year.
Compensation: Salary will be commensurate with experience and proven track record.
