Kenya
Located in East Africa, Kenya is rich in wildlife and natural beauty—from snow-capped mountains to broad plains, to a tropical coastline. In addition to being blessed with abundant natural resources, Kenya has a generally well-educated population and a diverse culture that includes 42 indigenous tribes. While these are significant strengths, Kenya still faces many challenges such as unemployment, poverty, disease, crime amd corruption. Despite these hurdles, the people of Kenya are welcoming and friendly and have a strong vision for the future of their country.

Education
Maryknoll lay missioners engage in educational initiatives that range from teaching in a grade school and providing job training to marginalized youth at a vocational school to providing scholarships and other educational support and opportunities to orphans affected by HIV/AIDS.
Healthcare
At a dispensary in a slum settlement of Mombasa, we offer direct care to patients living in dire poverty. The dispensary provides 4,000 immunization visits for babies and toddlers each year as well as another 3000-4000 visits for routine outpatient services. In addition, lay missioners also provide health education to vulnerable children.
