Sustainable Development
While ecological issues affect everyone, they tend to have a disproportionate impact on communities living in poverty. Our missioners respond to these issues by promoting sustainable agricultural techniques, working with communities to identify alternative technologies, teaching about environmental issues, and researching and implementing clean water systems. We also work in projects that work to create ongoing income for families and communities, making a lasting change in their lives and helping them overcome poverty.
Agricultural Programs
Lay missioners work with rural and urban populations to establish sustainable agricultural projects and to teach about environmental issues.
Income generation
Because poverty is a constant pressure on many of the communities we work with, one key to stronger communities is to help them generate income through programs such as a cooperative that helps women work together and create greater financial resources for their families.
