Maryknoll lay missioner Liz Mach discusses initiatives in the Diocese of Musoma, Tanzania, to combat female genital mutilation, child marriage, domestic abuse, trafficking and other forms of gender-based violence. Mach serves as the diocese’s assistant director for planning and development. She highlights Jipe Moyo, a shelter for girls fleeing gender-based violence, as well as a new school built in the diocese to allow rural girls to continue in secondary education.
